A Short Bio
I was born Judith Ann Eldridge in Houlton Maine in 1953, the countryside from whence my mother’s family hailed and where my father was employed following the utility companies that were still installing electric power. He convinced the inhabitants they needed freezers and ice cream - which is what his company sold. My school years were spent in Central Massachusetts.
In 1977, I graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, majoring in printmaking. My prints are all true stories. These short stories come to me when I'm doing something other than artwork. As with most image-makers, I draw the things I know the best. I spend a lot of time in the vegetable garden, working on local land conservation, and helping with volunteer wildlife data collection projects as well.
In normal years, I participate in a number of juried retail shows in the Northeast and have work in galleries around New England. As a state-juried member of the League of NH Craftspeople, my work can be found at most of their stores. Click the Events tab to find the galleries and events and see if my prints can be found anywhere near you.
